When a laser illuminates an object, speckle noise appears and degrades your image. This Speckle Reducer was developed to decrease the coherence of the laser.

The Speckle Reducer uses different lengths of optical fiber, where each fiber differs more than the coherence length of the source. Since it has no moving parts there will be no vibration noise. This is excellent for temporal resolved imaging.

The Speckle Reducer also works as a beam homogenizer. The input Gaussian intensity profile is transformed into a homogeneous profile.
